privacy policy
Last updated: 8 July 2026
Jobs Brief is a privately run newsletter. We collect one thing, your email address, to send you a selection of roles every two weeks. Below is how that data is handled, in line with the GDPR.
1. Data controller
The controller of your personal data is Mateusz Jaźwiecki, running the Jobs Brief newsletter as a personal project. Contact for data matters: hi@mateuszjazwiecki.com.
2. What data we collect
- Email address: the one you enter in the signup form; it is needed to send the newsletter.
- Delivery data: our email provider (MailerLite) records basic events, e.g. whether a message was delivered, opened or a link was clicked. Used solely to check that the newsletter works.
- Anonymous site statistics: we use Simple Analytics, a cookie-free tool that collects no personal data and does not profile visitors.
What we do not collect: your name (unless you include it in a reply), phone number, CV data, location data. We build no advertising profiles.
3. Why we process it
- Sending the Jobs Brief newsletter to the address you gave.
- Checking that messages arrive and the content is useful (aggregate statistics).
- Replying to your messages, if you write.
4. Legal basis
- Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent): by subscribing you consent to receiving the newsletter. You can withdraw consent at any time (see below), which does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
- Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest): anonymous statistics and basic security of the service.
5. How long we keep it
Your email address is kept for as long as you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, the address is removed from the list. Aggregate statistics remain in anonymized form and cannot identify you.
6. Who we share it with
We use trusted providers that process data on our behalf under GDPR-compliant data processing agreements:
- MailerLite: newsletter delivery and subscriber-list management. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, it happens under standard contractual clauses.
- Simple Analytics: anonymous site statistics (no cookies, no personal data).
- Microsoft Azure: hosting of this site.
We do not sell or rent your data. If Jobs Brief ever includes a sponsored role, it will be clearly marked, still chosen by me on the same quality bar, and your email address will never be shared with the company placing it.
7. Security
- Data minimization: we collect only the email address.
- Encryption: the site and the form run over HTTPS (TLS); data held by providers is protected to their security standards.
- Restricted access: only I have access to the subscriber list.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to: access your data (art. 15), rectification (art. 16), erasure / "being forgotten" (art. 17), restriction of processing (art. 18), data portability (art. 20), objection (art. 21), and withdrawal of consent at any time.
To exercise these rights, write to hi@mateuszjazwiecki.com. I will reply within 30 days.
9. How to unsubscribe
Every message contains an unsubscribe link: one click and it's done. You can also write to hi@mateuszjazwiecki.com and I will remove your address from the list.
10. Right to complain
If you believe the processing of your data violates the GDPR, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority:
The President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO)
ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, Poland
uodo.gov.pl
11. Changes to this policy
I will announce material changes by email or on this page with reasonable notice.
